Getting Here - By Car

Access is generally best via junction 36 of the M6. Follow signs for Kendal and take the South Kendal exit of the A591. Once off the dual carriageway follow signs for Oxenholm Station. Having passed the train station, follow signs for Old Hutton. Don't turn off. As you approach the village of Old Hutton turn left at the crossroads sign posted 'Ewbank'. Follow this single track road for approximate a mile - at the junction carry straight on -this is sign posted 'Eskrigg End'. The Old Stables is the first house on the left you come to in the small hamlet of seven houses.

Getting Here - By Train

Acces is via Oxenholme 'The Lake District' Station on the edge of Kendal. Oxenholme is located on the West Coast Mainline. From Oxenholme station your accomodation is a 10 minute taxi journey. Taxis are located outside the main entrance to the station (on the Southbound side).

Access to the Lake District

Oxenholme train station provides links both to the North Lakes and to Windermere and the Kentmere Valley via the Windermere spur. Windermere is 20 minutes from Oxenholme by train. Trains run approximately every 40 minutes. Windermere Station is well served to further your journey either by bus, mountain bike (which can be hired at the Station), taxi or Mountain Rambler for a scenic tour of the surrounding countryside. If you'd like to hire bikes from Wheelbase (see Links page) then leave the train at Staveley - Wheelbase is five minutes walk from the train station.
